  • Serves & returns just to get over the net. High unforced errors.
  • Stays back and drives everything. Rarely attempts 3rd shot drops.
  • Uncomfortable or afraid of dinking at the kitchen line (NVZ).
  • Lacks doubles positioning awareness. Often collides or leaves huge gaps.

Intermediate

  • Reliable forehand and improving serve depth, but backhand is a clear weakness.
  • Understands moving to the net. Tries 3rd shot drops but frequently pops them up.
  • Can sustain short dink rallies but lacks the ability to attack off the bounce.
  • Knows to stay parallel with partner but lacks unified pendulum movement.

Advanced Intermediate

  • Very consistent serves/returns. Directs returns to avoid poachers.
  • Patient dinking with depth. Begins moving opponents with angles.
  • Can reset attacks occasionally instead of just blocking hard or panicking.
  • Active at the net. Looks to poach high-floating balls.

Advanced

  • Rare unforced errors. Hits 3rd shot drops consistently and transitions smoothly.
  • Executes roll volleys to attack. Backhand dinks/slices are highly reliable.
  • Excellent reset skills from the transition zone against hard drives.
  • High tactical IQ. Uses stacking effectively and isolates opponent weaknesses.

Expert / Pro

  • Extreme consistency and patience. Excels in 10+ shot dink rallies finding micro-openings.
  • Masters advanced attacks: Ernes, ATPs, and heavy shot disguise/fakes.
  • Flawless 5th/7th shot drops. Seamlessly turns elite defense into offense.
  • Adapts to wind, scoreline, and opponent psychology. Total court command.
